After the first snow this winter the backyard looked like a kind of fairy land but all that has changed now. Snow is everywhere on the ground and it is very deep in some places with a crust of ice on top. That will, sometimes, support the weight of the dog but it often doesn't and he goes through. When it is cold like it is this morning at -5º F the dog doesn't stay out long because he freezes up and his joints do not move very well. But so far he has managed to get out and do his thing and get back in all on his own. I don't know what we would do if we had to go outside and rescue him?

Eventhough the picture looks perfect, I know how bad it is especially this year.

It sure has been a cold one. My wife and I wanted to make snowmen, but so far, we have remained indoors on account of the snow. As frigid as it's been, I still love the winter.

It is so cold here and the snow has an inch or more of ice on top of it. So it will be a long time before anybody can make a snowman.

Yes, this has been a bad winter for me. Since I can't get outside much without taking a tank of oxygen with me or an oxygen concentrator, I just don't go out unless it is to the doctor.

It's cold here too and there's snow in the forecast for tomorrow evening.

I think the kids told me that we are supposed to get more snow. I just don't know where it is all going to go when or if it ever thaws.

You seem to have got your share. BTW, half of Norway has snow under, the other half has (so far nothing.

We have to go back to 1977 to find a worse winter than this one. It was very bad back then and I was still young and left our research and development building 2 hours early and got home that night about 9 PM -- I think I was struggling on the roads for about 6 hours.

Very cold in Alabama too! I also remember the winter of 1976-77. And I was young then and it was cold with occasional snow, sorta like this year. Stay warm!

Oh, my !
Our winter is not a winter.
It is not cold, no snow, a lot of rain and wind.
My spring flowers are growing.
Have a nice snowy day, Abe !

I think I just read that we should be in the 60º's next week? Not sure, but that sounds like we will have a lot of snow melting.
