This first snow of the season was wet, heavy, snow. It was easier to just push it than to lift it up and throw it somewhere. The neighbor had their snow blower out and tried to use it but it would clog up the screw so he quit and pushed the rest of the snow off of his mom's driveway too. I used to do this myself but lately I am not able to do much of anything so my daughter who lives with us does the hard labor I used to do and Patty used to do too. She ran the snow blower up until two years ago and her breathing got so bad that she had to stop too.

This getting older is for the birds. ((hugs))
It is icy here today--accidents everywhere. Lots of closed roads and emergency vehicles.
Have a lovely day, my Friend.
PS. I have never had to shovel snow in my life. Not once. It never snows enough for that, and when it did snow early in my life--we were out in the country. What snow fell--stayed put. (grin)
You are lucky.
We are supposed to get rain tonight or tomorrow.
I grew up in Hawaii and until the age of 18, and also never had to shovel snow. Now it's a part of life. This certainly looks wet and heavy! Glad your daughter could lend a hand.
Well, it's a pretty picture but hard on the shovelers. I always thought it would be a good idea to get a snow blower but have heard that if you don't get the industrial strength ones, the lighter versions cannot keep up. We don't get enough snow here to justify the expense, so it's way down on our priority list. Thank you for stopping by with your anniversary greetings. Please say hi to Patty for me too.
We never used to shovel the snow where we lived before moving here in 1962. Back there we just wore paths in the snow and used them. Even the roads were not plowed and people drove in grooves. I never saw salt but they used a lot of coal cinders at major intersections to give traction so people could stop.
We didn't have any snow last winter. The winter before that we had plenty had bought a new snow blower. This winter we are getting snow more than we did last year.
Thankfully, you have her to help. Please pass along my greetings to her. :-)
Yes, she helps a lot when she can. Grandma drives our granddaughter to and from school each day. We also are like her baby setter. So the amount of help she gets is good for her too. She, in turns, does about all she can, including fixing some great meals for us.
